Trifecta Gallery. Las Vegas, Nevada. November 4- 27, 2010
"collected and represented." is an installation of paintings that draws links between the artist, the exhibition space, and its viewers. The work includes rendered reproductions of objects in the gallery (currency, office supplies, hardware, floral decoration, and important documents), multiplied into both mathematical and non-mathematical arrangements. Visual decoys− such as two-dimensional representation, symmetry, and repetition are used to reflect and reverberate the history, architecture, and autobiography of the exhibition space. "collected and represented." focuses on the materiality of painting, moving between painting as cultural artifact, object of contemplation, and market speculation.
